![]() Vanilla does see some playing but not nearly as much as classes modes. If you want to play on an active server with other players, you're probably going to have to play a mod. These all completely change the rules of the game and each kind of have their own meta. There's tons of community made game modes, like map packs, character classes, and saxton hale modes. The thing about MM8BDM is the active modding scene that is more popular than the vanilla game. Most weapons are projectiles and not hitscan, so you'll have to learn how to lead your shots in any situation. It's made in a modified version of the engine that runs classic Doom, so it is heavy on fast paced action and moment-to-moment skirmishes. On a gameplay level, it isn't anything like a classic mega man. This game lets you have other weapons aside from the main ones, and those work fantastic for most bosses and regular enemies. Almost every weapon is awesome, it has some challenges that actually reward the player from completing them, the stage design and music are great, and it has a second playable character. Most people probably won't enjoy this hack as much as i do, since it's from Mega Man 5, but it's worth a shot. ![]() It works like Speed Burner from X2, and you can jump with that extra speed, but you lose the invincibility. However, there is a replacement for Beat, a new weapon exclusive for protoman. ![]() The only downside is that weapons are the same. You can deflect shots with your shield just like in Mega Man 9, the charged shot isn't as broken. You get to choose how much damage you take, the original amount or twice as much. Well, with protoman mode, this problem is almost nonexistent. The problem with is that it's way too easy. Mega Man 5 has a soft spot for me, since it was my very first Mega Man game. Seriously, this game has so much to offer, everyone should give it a try if they haven't yet. It has various difficulty settings, and a special mode unlocked when you beat the game. The references to certain franchises with some of the weapons, a certain stage, and a particular secret boss. If you explore enough, you might run into a surprise or two. Various stages have split paths, that are all fun to explore. Every weapon is changed, and almost none of them are useless. I like 4 MI because of how extensive it is. ![]() I have played others, but not on the same level as unlimited. Mine are 4 Minus Infinity, and a hack that lets you play as MM9 Protoman in Mega Man 5. ![]() RULE 2 POST BLACKLIST Links The Mega Man Network /r/MegaMan discord Related subreddits /r/BattleNetwork /r/MegaManLegends /r/MightyNo9 /r/protomen /r/capcom /r/games /r/gamemusic /r/Mario /r/Zelda /r/Metroid /r/SonicTheHedgehog /r/boktai Do not attempt to sell or link to any merchandise or games, regardless of whether the storefront in question is official.
